Usage and dosage :
intramuscula injection; one time dosage, foal, calf 5-8ml; lamb, piglets 1-2ml
Adverse reaction: Selenium toxicity is large, the minimum lethal dose of single oral administration of sodium selenite for pigs is 17mg/kg ; young lamb taking 10mg sodium selenite at one time will cause mental depression, ataxia, difficulty breathing, frequent urination, cyanosis, dilate, swelling and death, pathological damage include edema, congestive and necrotic, which involves in many systems.
Precaution:
1. partial pungency will happen during intramuscular injection.
2. selenium is with big toxicity, over dosage can lead to poisoning, shows vomit, respiratory depression, weak, central inhibition, stupor, death when serious.
