Furazolidon-e (CAS 67-4-5-8)  is a nitrofuran antibacterial agent. It is used in human and veterinary medicine. Furazolidon-e is believed to work by crosslinking of DNA. 
Furazolidon-e powder is a nitrofuran derivative with antiprotozoal and antibacterial activity. It is used to treat bacterial and protozoal infections. Furazolidon-e works by killing bacteria and protozoa Furazolidon-e is usually taken by mouth. It works inside the intestinal tract to treat cholera, colitis, and/or diarrhea caused by bacteria, and giardiasis. Furazolidon-e is sometimes taken together with other medicines for bacterial infections.
